Playing tips

The "-" sign denotes quick change of the notes, i.e. it connects the notes
with a shorter duration than those depicted without those dash signs. But
how short are they?... Also, different time signatures are used for all
those bridges...

Oh, should there come a day when I learn writing music sheets I will rework
all this. Meanwhile, always refer to the original recording.

(The Dance in Sand and Sea)

INTRO: { f-g-c- f-g-c- f-g-c- d-c-g- f-g-c- f-g-c- d-c-g- E } x2

    E
So here we are, or rather, here am I, quite alone;

D
I'm seeing things that were shared before, long ago;

 C
my memory stretches and I am dazed.

You know I know

 E                               E           D   C   E
how good the time was and how I laughed.

 E                              Dm          Csus4     C
Times have changed, now you're far away, I can't complain -

   Bm          Am               G                      F(+d)        F
I had all my chances but they slipped right through my ha - ands

             Dm
like so much    sand;

  Am           G(+d)             F(+d)        Em
I know I'll never dance like I used to.

      E
I'll just wait till day breaks upon the land and the sea,

 D
hoping that I can catch all of the memories;

  Csus4
then I must crawl off upon my way,

           E                            E       D   C    E
all of me listening hard for the final words.

      E               Dm                    Csus4          C
But there are none, the sunrise calls, I've lingered on

 Bm             Am           G                 F(+d)  F
too close for comfort and I don't know quite why - y

             Dm
I feel like      crying -

Am             G(+d)             F(+d)        Em
  I know we'll never dance like we used to.

Bm     A       G           F#
I look up, I'm almost blin - ded

Bm        A          G       F#
  by the warmth of what's inside me

Bm       A           G      F#
and the taste that's in my soul,

(The Dance in Frost)

F#m(+d)/F#             F#m/F#
  I wore my moods like different sets of clothes

         D/f#                 B
but the right one was never around

G
  and as you left I heard my body ring

        Em            A
and my mind began to howl.

        D                Dmaj7                  D7          G
It was    far to late to      contemplate the meaning of it all;

      G                        F
You know that I need you, but somehow

                    E          D    E           D  E     D  E
I don't think you see my love at all.

At some point I lost you, I don't know quite how that was.

     D    Dsus4   D     Dsus4  D        Dsus4  D  Dsus4  D  Dsus4  D  Dsus4  D  Dsus4
The wonderland   lay in a     coat of white,                     chilling frost;

C        Csus4 C        Csus4 C       Csus4 C Csus4 C Csus4 C   Csus4 C Csus4 C Csus4
I looked a  - round and I    found I was                  truly lost...

 E       Esus4 E       Esus4 E     Esus4 E Esus4 E Esus4 E Esus4 E Esus4 E Esus4
without your hand in mine I am dead.

  E                   Dm                       Csus4       C
Reality is unreal and games I've tried just aren't the same:

 Bm            Am           G         F(+d)        F
without your smile there's nowhere to hi - ide

  F/c F/b  Dm/a
(yes) and       deep inside

Am         G(+d)                 F(+d)      Em
  I know I' ve never cried as I'm about to ...

Bm   A            G            F#
If I could just frame the words

Bm            A         G    F#
  that would make your fire burn

Bm        A     G    F#             Bm     A
all this water now around me could be the love

     G            F#          Bm  A  G  F#msus4(?)   E
that   should surround me.

 Bm     A                G           F#
Looking out through the tears that blind me

Bm           A          G       F#
  my heart bleeds that you may find me

Bm     A
or at least that I can

    G          F#
forget and be numb,

    Bm        A        G           F#
but I can't stop, the words still come:

   Bm   A        G        F#
I love yo        -        u.   x4

ENDING: Bm D Bm D etc.
